A classic wedding – easier said than done! But Megan and Kevin knocked it out of the park, and the result was anything but ordinary. This couple allowed the history-infused environment of President Lincoln’s Cottage in DC to be their co-star. Simple design choices enhanced the day with softness and plenty of megawatt smiles.

Gorgeous florals from the sustainability-minded designers at Cedar & Lime Collective provided ambience amid the lush fall foliage on the property. Neutral color choices – with a few pops of jewel tones, of course! – for both floral arrangements and decor details were in keeping with the historic venue. The golden hues of sunlight in the late fall meant that everything took on a romantic glow.

What an “only in DC!” moment, to add your own story to a place steeped with such history. The couple shared a first look in the main passage. From that first look, through the ceremony and the last rays of golden hour photos, Megan and Kevin kept each other smiling.

A cozy tented reception by Sugarplum Tents with live music from Sly 45 with Watershed Entertainment allowed guests to make the most of the historic grounds throughout the night. Low centerpieces on long tables lent a feeling of romance amid the glowing cafe lights. Guests were treated to Timber Pizza and local artisan gelato from Casa Rosado.

So much love to Megan and Kevin for inviting us to join their joyful day. And it wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of this awesome vendor team – thanks one and all!
