The Josephine Butler Parks Center served as the perfect backdrop for this classic couple to showcase their love. We love the balcony overlooking Meridian Hill Park as the perfect spot for a quick winter photo session! The couple put on the finishing touches upstairs before sharing a first look and group photos on the impressive staircase.

Planning a dream wedding doesn’t have to break the bank, and our couple proved just that. They made smart budget choices that showcased their savvy without compromising on style. Joy Photo and Video captured every precious moment. Having both photo and video was essential for the couple since some beloved family members couldn’t make the trip to DC.

Karly and James opted for a classic color palette of navy, white and gold that added a touch of sophistication to every scene. Something Borrowed Blooms provided the classic floral arrangements. This is a trend we are seeing with our Capitol Romance couples to make green choices and keep it simple!

One of the main reasons to choose Josephine Butler Parks Center was, of course, the in-house piano. The couple invited James’ brother, an accomplished player, to accompany their ceremony. Then Karly and James exchanged vows they had prepared, with a dear friend officiating. The couple stepped away for a few quick photos on the balcony before joining their guests downstairs.

The energy at this wedding was palpable, thanks to the lively group of guests who came to celebrate! Beloved song lyrics echoed through the historic halls as the couple and their guests danced the night away on a packed dance floor at the center of Josephine Butler Parks Center’s second floor. The couple shared a first dance, and a memorable dance with each of their mothers, at the start of the dinner service.

Winter weddings are truly something special, and this one at Josephine Butler Parks Center in Washington, DC, was no exception. From classic details to smart budget choices and a lively dance floor, every element came together seamlessly. As a wedding coordinator, it was a joy to witness the love and happiness that filled the air on this magical day. Here’s to love, laughter, and the beauty of winter weddings!
