Loving all the multicultural weddings and couples we seem to be having in Capitol Romance lately. With the Indian-traditional wedding last week, and our lotus flower (Thai) engagement yesterday … and now, Crystal and Stephen’s Chinese heritage-infused DC wedding feature for this morning.

This gorgeous DC wedding was submitted by Roberts & Co. Events [via Two Bright Lights] and all the pictures were captured by Lisa Boggs Photography at one of our favorite Washington, DC wedding venues, the Dumbarton House!

All the lovely details from the couple:

Crystal and Stephen wanted to plan their wedding taking their Chinese heritage into consideration but also embracing their western lifestyle.

We decided to host two separate parts of the wedding with two completely different feelings to make this happen! The ceremony was held at Dumbarton House in Washington D.C, and although the weather did not cooperate this location has an amazing historical building on site to host an in door ceremony.

Crystal and Stephen live in a historical home in Maryland, so they felt this location was the perfect fit for their style. The ceremony was intimate and small with only 60 guests.

Crystal and Stephen worked very closely with their officiant to create a meaningful, spirital, and romantic ceremony. They brought in their Chinese heritage with the binding of hands with red string.

Crystal wore a gorgeous western gown, and they used a soft palatte of grey, blue, and yellow to enhance the ceremony.

To me, this is why rain can never ruin a wedding day ~ i LOVE the way pictures with umbrellas turn out. The pop of color is just so fun!

While the ceremony was an intimate affair, the reception dinner was quite the opposite – 14 courses and 400 guests!!

Guests then moved to China Garden where their extended family joined them in a 14 course Chinese dinner for 400 guests!!

Crystal and Stephen changed their overall theme to red and gold to pay homage to their Chinese culture. They had an infusion of family style chinese food mixed with delicious seafood dishes.

Guests were entertained by Chinese Dragon Dancers who performed a showstopping number for the bride and groom.

Crystal changed into her Chinese Red Dress and Stephen into traditional Chinese men’s fashion. They performed a tea ceremony honoring their family while guests dined at dinner.

The party kicked off with a photobooth that was so busy all night, and dancing for young and old. Guests were treated to yummy ferrero roche treats adorned with the chinese symbol for love and luck.

Congratulations Stephen & Crystal! thank you for sharing your beautiful wedding with us! A special thanks again to Roberts & Co. Events, Lisa Boggs Photography & Two Bright Lights for making this DC wedding feature possible!
