A truly offbeat & unique Washington, DC wedding feature for you today. This GORGEOUS, intimate wedding was captured by the oh-so-talented Amie Otto [submitted thnx to Two Bright Lights] and took place at the Ashby Inn in Paris, VA.

Amber and Matt met at Amber’s parent’s 25th wedding anniversary dinner. Matt was the sommolier at the restaurant and Amber was a guest.

He asked her about her tattoos, and the rest is history!

This real Virginia wedding is amazing in so many ways and 100% proves that bigger weddings are not always better. Sometimes, smaller, intimate weddings are the way to go. This feature has a ton of awesome inspiration for you today ~ lots of beautiful floral arrangements [courtesy of Growing Wild Floral Company], hanging floral decorations in glasses at the ceremony, a tattoed bride (eep! my fav!), and some seriously stunning wedding portraits.

I just know you guys are going to love this one.

Amie‘s shots are just dripping with beauty in this feature…

Amber designed the programs, favor boxes and invitations.

I love the unique font of their wedding program!

Their ceremony featured songs by the Postal Service, sung by a close friend.

^uh. LOVE this.

The had a small wedding with only 16 guests at the Ashby Inn, in Paris VA, an eco-friendly venue. They had a 9 course meal, paired with different wines chose by Matt, who is currently the sommolier and general manager at Rouge 24, the hottest new restaurant in DC.

see how amazing a small, intimate dinner can be for your wedding? gorgeous!

After dinner, the guests were treated to a bonfire with homemade marsh mallows and gourmet hot chocolate.

Congratulations Amber & Mat ~ we wish you all the love and happiness in the world!

  1. Thanks for the feature! I’m so glad that others love this wedding as much as I do! It was seriously one of my favorite weddings ever and I was so grateful to have been a part of it!

  2. Gorgeous. Confirms my beliefs that a smaller wedding can be just as amazing (if not more) as a grande event. Props to the couple for staying true to themselves and using mason jars in the most amazing ways!
