What happened to spring? It feels like we skipped right over it, and the heat and humidity have swooped in, and I’m not ready for it. I’m happy to say we haven’t been inundated with cicadas in our little corner of the District yet *knock on wood* – just a few sightings on our walk yesterday morning, and I’m hoping it stays that way. I’m excited to catch up with the rest of the CapRo team tomorrow for a little outdoor picnic. Now that we’re fully vaccinated, we’re slowly making plans with friends, and getting out of the house a bit more. I hope you’re all getting out more too (in a safe way), and have a great weekend!

Our wedding day was magical! My partner and I have been together for 18 years, and wanted to finally get married. We met at the only Gay bar in Tallahassee, FL, Brother’s Night Club. We hit it off immediately, and what was supposed to just be a date ended in a long term relationship. Now, 18 years later, we have our first house and we’re married :) I am the happiest person alive!

I wore a grey suite with a black & grey bow tie. Embroidered in the jacket was, “Finally married!” Kris wore a maroon suite with a black tie, and embroidered in his jacket was, “K Fly”. He was a swimmer in college at Florida State, and the butterfly was his best stroke.

The best part was hearing the guitarist while I was coming up the walkway to marry my husband. The music continued with nonstop dancing all night!

Our advice to couples that are planning their wedding – even if you plan 1 or 2 years in advance, make sure you always follow-up with your vendors. I cannot tell you how many times we followed-up and still had small bumps in the road. But also remember, it is your special day, and if something does not go as planned, know that no one else will know the difference. Breathe, and relax, as it is your day and nothing can mess it up.
