Another Pizza Friday is upon us, and today’s dreary weather has me wanting to go right back to bed. I’m looking forward to the weekend – crisp Fall weather, apples orchards and pumpkin patches, and I’m FINALLY getting a haircut! Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Our Contemporary Garden of Eden styled shoot was set in Suite Four, an industrial warehouse venue in downtown Durham, NC. The industrial warehouse allowed us to create a modern twist on a classic story. We wanted to use the simplicity of the garden setting while adding luxury elements to bring the story to life. To soften the exposed brick and metal of the venue without losing the industrial elements that we loved, our team of designers used a mixture of wood, carefully sculpted floral arrangements, and velvet. The combination of garden and industrial worked together beautifully.

The floral design was an integral part of the overall look and theme of the shoot. To bring aspects of a garden inside, floral designer, Lyn Graves of Fresh Affairs, chose the perfect flower combinations that fit the garden theme. From the cake table and centerpieces, to the floral hair accents, each flower combination was carefully crafted keeping the theme in mind.

The texture was another important part of the overall design. The velvet furniture and rustic wood tables gave the shoot the modern and luxurious
feeling we were looking for. The glassware and ceramic plates tied the look together beautifully.

To ensure that the wedding had a full garden feel, the reception menu was curated to include apples, colorful foods, and edible flowers. The cocktails, were also colorful, and incorporated seasonal fruits to tie the look together. The reception was completed with a mini garden cake table.

We wanted our bride to embody the simplicity and softness of a garden setting while incorporating more modern, luxury elements to make the shoot feel more contemporary. The groom’s navy blue and purple suit paired beautifully with the bright, vibrant colors of the flowers and furniture used in the space.
