Reaching some new levels of exhaustion today. The gloomy weather, a post-7 year old birthday party bonanza, and a few weeks from my third trimester and I am … TIRED. It doesn’t help that I literally have a day of non-stop, back to back, meetings scheduled for today. So the word of the day for me will be: survival.

In some fun news, we’re less than a month from our trip to Ireland and Paris (!!!!!!!!!!) and omg am I getting excited! We also have new CapRoPride gear up in the CapRo shop – including adorable new Crop Tops. Order now so they get to you in time for the annual Capital Pride festivities!

This last year has been full of uncertainty and heartbreak for couples, and for the vendor communities that support them. From social-distancing to rescheduling, this year has been a roller coaster. Although weddings may not look exactly the way we all planned in 2020 and 2021, we want couples to know that just because we’re staying safe doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice style.

Although many couples have been heartbroken by the changing guidelines and the limitations social distancing has placed on their celebrations, as we roll into the new year we’re seeing more and more couples embrace the new normal. If anything, this shift is enabling a focus on what really matters – their love for each other. We’ve also noticed that the physical distancing guidelines have allowed couples to reallocate their wedding budgets to focus on the details and activities that matter most to them.

Now is the time to splurge for a full-day photography package or for a fun reception dress to dance the night away. Lower guest counts allow for more decadent catering menus or elevating your design by upgrading rental items like chairs and tables. Less bridesmaids and groomsmen mean you can reallocate those resources to do an extravagant sweetheart table design or an installation for your ceremony space. Love and weddings aren’t cancelled – they’re getting elevated! Small parties = grand designs!
