And then FINALLY it’s Friday. Somehow I survived this week. It’s been a long one. I really thought LAST week was the one I needed to get through, but this one threw me for a loop … the day job is going into over drive (with one massive deliverable finally behind me as of yesterday) with starting a new project, and a big event going down next Tuesday. We’re headed to Philly for Saturday / Sunday and I am already starting to get overwhelmed just thinking about the summer travel & trips ahead (damn my type A-planning anxiety).

Even with Kara prepping blog posts, I STILL can’t seem to get more than 2 posts up a week. And I’m still sorry about that, but AT LEAST I got this one for you – it’s a GREAT wedding post for a Friday. Full of fun, details, and SO MANY smiles – something we could certainly use more of these days with the endless news cycle of depression & horror :( So Cheers to Friday & a super awesome wedding. Let’s do this.

Megan and Chris got married at Main Street Ballroom in Ellicott City, MD, a quaint historic town with charming details and beautiful, historic architecture.

Throughout the planning process, Megan and Chris had their friends and family in mind for every detail. They wanted each person to feel the love through personal and unique details. From booking a local Bed & Breakfast for the girls to get ready in and the heirloom pieces worn by the bride, to the thoughtful words shared by the brides father (who dressed in a kilt during their father daughter first look as a nod to his Scottish heritage!) and the illustrations of Megan and Chris’ pups on their signature drink menus, every person in attendance meant so much to them.

The inspiration for the decor started with the timing of the wedding day – it marked 3 years since Megan and Chris had their very first date. The warm tones of maroon and navy were found at every turn, from the flowers and bridal party attire, to the reception decor. The focal point of the entire event was the beautiful metal heart created by one of the couple’s best friends. This piece of art hung from the ceiling as the perfect backdrop for their ceremony and sweetheart table. To represent Megan’s hometown, the two cut one of the eight Smith Island Cakes, which are a staple in Delaware.

Megan and Chris also included perfect custom details like their matching Converse as they danced their way onto the reception, and the hand-lettered leather jacket which paired perfectly with the blue vintage 1962 Ford Falcon outside of Main Street Ballroom.
