The nonstop rain in Washington, DC cannot stop me – I am a blogging FOOL … well … sort of. I am back with ANOTHER gorgeous real DC area wedding, with so many dang colors (the perfect antidote to this multi-day gloom fest in DC). And while these gorgeous images can’t really combat the OTHER gloom hanging over the DC area (ya know, the one at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave), it can at least refill my cup and help me dissociate for a bit.

Today we have Ashley and Jason’s brightly colored, bubble-filled wedding. I love how much they leaned into their style and didn’t shy away from their own personalities in their wedding day. And as a fellow fantasy color-haired gal, I am obsesssssed with Ashley’s hair. It’s only making me SLIGHTLY regret not having colors in my hair on my own wedding day.

Hope everyone had a nice 3-day weekend, and enjoys a short week. I am holding on to May (and my birthday!), before the insanity of summer break with 3 kiddos really sets in.

Advice from the bride: “It’s your day and people want to be with you, so be prepared to be handled for photographs- its fun but for the reception: everyone wants a piece of the cake and you!  Don’t be afraid to stray from tradition. Adding personalized touches, like our unity cocktail, to your day can allow your lifestyles to live vicariously in your wedding.

Ashley’s memorable moments: Going to a photoshoot, Jason told his best man that he couldn’t have done this without him, which was a really special moment. I gave handwritten love letters to the Maid of Honor and the mother of the Bride for a more personal gift the ones she couldn’t do this without.

“The bubble guns used at the recessional were an absolute blast for both guests and staff. To add to the dreamscape atmosphere, bubbles cascaded in the air as we celebrated a new beginning. Including our guests in the ceremony was a lovely touch.”

The photobooth was a huge hit for our guests who prefered to observe rather than dance. The yard games and photo booth were a wonderful addition for guests to have other opportunities to interact and let loose.

The first dance is like a dream come true, so we naturally wanted to make it dreamlike by dancing on a cloud with a dry ice effect.
