Back in April, we had the insanely-talented and amazing, Julie of Jewel Hair Design (a local, Washington, DC area on-site wedding hair stylist) share some insight on bridal hair trends for the spring & summer. Now, she is back with some insight for Fall & Winter wedding hair styles and she is sharing all the goods with us!

Take it away Julie …

Fall wedding season is almost upon us!  You are thrilled about the weather being cooler, and even more excited about the humidity being low for your wedding day!   You have colors picked out, flowers chosen, and accessories to match your style, but you don’t really know what to do to your hair?

You could have a styled up-do but you know that with the weather being nicer it is not as crucial that you do.   You like low chignons, but EVERYONE is doing that now a days and you want to be unique.

Below are some tips for fall bridal hair that you may consider for your wedding day:

1) Spice up your side pony tail by adding patterns and details to your hair.

Your dress may have a pattern you can try to follow in your hair.  If your dress is more on the plain side go ahead and amp up the details in your hair!  Throw in a braid, some pin curls, a hair pattern, or twists. (Keep in mind that veils do not usually work with side hairstyles)

2)  Plain and simple ~ Half Up, Half Down is never out of style.

The weather is going to be gorgeous so why throw your beautiful long locks up when you are used to wearing your hair down on a daily basis?   Add a few simple designs to your half up hair and keep it soft.  If your dress is super detailed don’t worry about being too simple.

3)  Add a splash of color into your hair!

Be unique by adding your wedding colors to your bridal hair. Have your florist give you a live flower to match your bouquets.  Make sure to ask her how long the certain flowers will stay alive, wilting flowers don’t look so great in pictures!

Not a big fan of the live flowers? No worries, Etsy.com has plenty of silk flowers to choose from, and many of the vendors will work with you to custom match your colors.
