Winter is hopefully coming to a close in DC [man it’s WINDY today] with Snowquestor a bust & behind us, and Cherry Blossoms on the horizon.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t still use the season for some beautiful wedding inspiration, especially since there’s a good amount of readers that could be currently planning a winter wedding! So for this afternoon, I give you a beautiful styled shoot between Eight Tree Street (florals & styling) and Teresa Wood Photography. The team used a royal purple, cranberry pink, and grass green color palette and a bird motif. I also loved the addition of wood and pine cones to the details. Check it out!

backyard DIY winter wedding details bridal inspiration

Eight Tree Street shares the inspiration behind the shoot:

One of my brides came late December for a backyard winter wedding at her parents home, even though it is cold, I love the idea.

I worked with wedding vendors to put together a shoot representative of what we see outdoors in the winter. I wanted a color palette different  from most winter wedding shoots, so you’ll find a richer and darker palette of purples, copper browns and greens, with touches of white and blue.  Twigs, little birds (we have a ton in our backyard) and other winter finds are incorporated.

On the other vendors they worked with:

I picked these vendors because many include handmade details (see hand beaded shawl by Sun*Kissed Designs, handcrafted soaps by P.S. I love Soap Co, stationery with loving stamp designs)  in their work, and  are very caring of their brides.
