As I teased on Friday, this week will be a bit different than my normal posting schedule, as I take a break from featuring offbeat & alternative Washington, DC weddings & instead showcase some amazing bridal hair, makeup & styling inspiration.

It all started a few months back when Suzanne Minksey of Bridal Beauty Associates emailed me about collaborating on a styled shoot. She wanted to showcase her team of talented wedding hair & makeup artists and showcase some more alternative & creative wedding hair & makeup styles.  She had me at alternative & creative :) We pulled Abby Grace Photography into the mix, and Abby & I quickly came up with the idea to focus on 6 different bridal looks: Victorian, Steampunk, Grecian, Rustic, Vintage & Offbeat.

Soon we had a few more vendors on board, and an awesome location confirmed. I was ecstatic when one of my favorite alternative Washington, DC wedding venues, the Longview Gallery, told us that they were open that weekend and more than willing to let us shoot there! Suzanne & her partner in crime, Krystal Morant, secured a florist, the amazingly talented Emily Harmon of Love Blooms [we will be doing a vendor spotlight piece on Emily & her budget-friendly wedding floral business next week!], a designer wedding dress shop, Blush Bridal Boutique, and the bridal accessories courtesy of Bridal Beauty Associates own accessories line.

Last minute, because of my obsession with design, fonts & all things paper, I brought Hitchcock Creative on board to design some posters to describe our different bridal looks. She insanely exceeded the crazy ideas I had in my head of these posters – and brought our  bridal inspiration shoot to a whole new level. I cannot wait for you all to see her poster designs!

Finally, it wouldn’t have been much of a bridal inspiration shoot without beautifully stunning models styled in our dresses, hair & makeup. Suzanne & Krystal brought us the beautiful Amelia Iachi and Leanne Hundley. And Abby’s friends Kim Usowski and Rachel Smith, along with my own sister Kristen Harrison, dazzled us with their beauty as well. Our last model was actually Suzanne Minskey herself – and just WAIT until you see how amazingly she modeled the vintage look!

For each look, we will let you know which artist crafted the hair & makeup, however, the Bridal Beauty Associates team was made up of: Angela Allen, Heather Callahan, Kira Sanders, Nicole Ferguson, and Krystal Morant. I am still in awe of the talent all these ladies posses.

So, sit back, relax, and get ready for the ULTIMATE in bridal style inspiration this week. First up this afternoon is the beautiful Kim Usowski, modeling the Modern, Victorian bridal look.

[PS- I thought Rihanna’s “Only Girl in the World” was an appropriate song to showcase bridal looks, as brides should feel like the only girl in the world on their wedding day :) ]
