Happy Tuesday! A stunning inauguration yesterday and now we are back to regular blogging for the week! Today’s real wedding feature is a DIY extravaganza, as the couple handmade so many of the wedding details to help stay within their small budget. Terri & Jim met after Terri got in a car accident and had to deal with an insurance adjuster. Lucky for her, the insurance adjuster was a caring man by the name of Jim – and their conversations quickly turned from insurance to each other’s lives.
Their wedding had a small budget, but that didn’t stop them from executing their design goals perfectly, using old windows and doors for most of the ceremony & reception decor.
Terri & Jim’s Handmade, Small Budget Maryland Wedding
Their proposal story:
Terri is a music teacher and she was conducting her winter concert with her students. With the help of her students Jim put together an elaborate proposal with the students carrying out a sign in the middle of the concert asking Terri to marry him. Of course she said yes!

When you see Terri and Jim together you can actually feel their love. It radiates off them. The way the look at each other, kiss, and compliment each other it’s absolutely beautiful. Their love also is strong for Jake, Jim’s son.
Terri & Jim got married at Conrad’s in Middle River. They knew they had a certain budget for their wedding but also knew they wanted a certain look. They took DIY to the next level. From creating their own special entrance to their ceremony site to beautiful signs. They worked so hard to create the wedding they dreamed of and they got it. The wedding was 100% about who they were. Terri even surprise Jim with a beautiful song (accompanied by her fabulous friends and a recorder)
Congratulations Terri & Jim! Thank you for sharing your handmade Maryland wedding with us. A special thanks again to Kathleen Hertel Photography & Two Bright Lights for making this Maryland weddings feature possible.
