Ah! This weather! I’ve felt an immediate shift in my mood as soon as the weather warmed up and the sun came out. We’ve made a few more trips to the playground, and spent a bit more time outside when we can. I hope you’ve been enjoying the weather as well. Today’s wedding is adding to the springtime vibes in a major way!

I wanted something simple and elegant, yet modern. My color palette was hues of blue/purples. My underlay of my dress was a lavender color. We included prayers and scripture readings in our ceremony, along with the lighting of the unity candle.

I let my florist take the lead with decorating because I trusted her to make my flowers just stunning, so I didn’t need much decoration beyond that. She took some simple Pinterest pictures I had from years of dreaming about my special day and transformed them into this gorgeous combination of flowers.  She designed a beautiful arbor that was featured behind our ceremony, along with all family portraits.

I did DIY a lot of stuff – I designed my own wedding invitations, and all of the stationary myself. I made the seating chart from a picture frame, and I also made the Mr. and Mrs. sign for our seats. I tried to personalize it as best as possible, but one of my favorite parts was the homemade limoncello my family and I made as the wedding favors. We made around 200 bottles, and put a sticker on it with my husband and I’s name. It seemed they were a huge hit as 200 bottles got scooped up by 50 people!

We also ended up writing our own vows to each other rather than doing the standard ones. The most special part of the day however, is that one of my husband’s Uncles was the one to marry us. He grew up looking up to his uncle, and they have such a close relationship, that him marrying us was so incredibly special to Daniel and I. Then we had an absolute blast at the reception. Our live band played awesome songs, and after dinner we just danced and sang until we did our grand exit. Our wedding was just so much fun.
