Happy Tuesday afternoon! For this afternoon’s post we have an awesome DC engagement session that started in Chinatown [at Zengo – the location of the couple’s first date – LOVE] and then headed out to get some gorgeous sunset pictures at Manassas Battlefield – which is quickly becoming one of my favorite engagement shoot locations in the greater Washington, DC area.

Thanks to Porter Watkin’s Photography for sharing this beautiful DC engagement session!

Greg & Marisa’s Washington DC & Manassas Battlefield Engagement Session

About the couple, from Greg:

Marisa and I met at 11th street lounge in Arlington, Marisa only went to Arlington to try to win a free designer purse from a radio show promotion but it was too crowded and she and her friends went to the lounge.  I saw her and her friends checking me out on the dance floor and struck up a conversation with her, the rest is history….she went there looking for a purse and ended up meeting her future husband.

The proposal:

For my proposal, last year we were preparing to go on our summer vacation to Cancun and I told her we had to meet a friend for a surprise birthday party in D.C. the night before (she had an idea I was going to propose in Cancun). I took her to the Beacon hotel, where we previously spent our first Valentine’s day with a romantic in-suite dinner.  I got the same room and showered the room with candles and flowers earlier in the day.

She walked up to the room where she was expecting a surprise party and was totally surprised instead with a proposal.

LOVE!

Congratulations Marisa & Greg – thank you for sharing your love story with us! A special thanks again to Porter Watkins Photography for sharing this gorgeous Washington DC and Manassas VA engagement session!
