Just for Fun: The Elephant Room

Last night Andy & I went to see The Elephant Room, at Washington DC’s Arena Stage. The theater itself is absolutely breathtaking [I immediately wondered if you could have your wedding reception here ... it's a seriously gorgeous, modern space...turns out it is available for event rentals!].

We were given the tickets as an anniversary present, because my brother in law is the Tech Director for the show. The show was SUCH a good time, that I just had to write a little something about it here, and suggest that if you are looking for a date night idea, or something fun/different to do in Washington, DC – then GO SEE THIS SHOW!

I mean, how could you NOT want to see a show that DCist created a tagline for that was, “when mullets meet magic”. The show is basically an absurd magic show, set to an awesome 80s soundtrack. The main characters are basically Danny McBride, Borat, & Napoleon-Dynamite meets Garth [from Wayne's World] as magicians.

Plus, there is a good amount of audience participation …. which I was actually “randomly chosen” to be a part of. I say randomly in quotes, because I just KNEW that my sister and brother-in-law had planned to have me be picked [and I was right] :).

So, if you are looking for a fun night out in DC, full of laughter, absurdity, and righteous 80s tunes, then go see The Elephant Room. It runs until February 26th … you won’t be sorry!
