As I sit here writing this post, it is currently 60s outside. In January. In Washington, DC. That is just absolute insanity. Though the season maybe winter, the temperature is definitely more spring/summer and consequently, it’s certainly helping me get absorbed into the colorful summer wedding of Kylie & Ryan, that Stephanie Leigh Photo Design has shared with us [via Two Bright Lights].

Kylie & Ryan’s beautiful summer wedding was the perfect mix of modern & vintage. They chose bright, Jewel tone colors of blues and greens, but also used the popular vintage mason jar motif! I love when couples mix two distinct genres into one for their wedding – the result is usually something super unique & different.

Kylie & Ryan’s Colorful Manor Wedding in Bluemont, VA

Wedding photographer, Stephanie Leigh shared:

Kylie and Ryan had a beautiful Summer wedding at Whitehall Manor in Bluemont VA. Her dress was so beautiful and matched the venue perfectly! The ceremony was located outside the manor under a large beautiful free. The aisle was lined with vintage styled mason jar vases and the chairs were filled with wonderful guests. There was nothing more beautiful that seeing the exchange of vows between these two.

Following the ceremony was a fun reception inside the manor home. The reception included fantastic food and a live band. I even had a change to sneak out the the barns of the property to snap a few shots of the newlyweds!

Kylie shared:

We had a lot of fun the day of the wedding. We wanted it to be a romantic and fun summer wedding.

Our outside ceremony was almost moved inside because of an approaching storm. In the end, we kept the ceremony outside and it made a for a very special, pre-storm atmosphere. We could hear thunder in the distance and feel the storm approaching but we all remained dry. We didn’t feel the first raindrop until all of the guests were inside!

i love non-stage, candid wedding group photos and those gorgeous bright blue bridesmaids dresses!

We loved escaping to an old barn on the property to take some photos during the reception.

Kylie told me that she actually isn’t all that crafty, and so she decided to enlist the help of family and friends to make a lot of the paper goods and decor items at the reception.

My advice for brides is to take advantage of the talents and skills of those around you who are willing to help. My sister is very creative and loved having a purpose for her creations. She made all of the paper goods used at the reception and ceremony – the menus, programs place cards, etc. She also made a board to display the place cards and hair accessories for the flower girls. All of the special touches came from her. Her name is Lawren Olivanti and can be found on Etsy. Anyone who wants a very affordable, personal touch for their wedding should contact her to make it happen.

Kylie left future brides the following advice:

I would advise brides to take advantage of all of the creativity around them, especially if they don’t have the time or the ability to do it themselves.

Congratulations Kylie & Ryan, thank you both for sharing your beautiful summer Virginia wedding with us! A special thanks to Stephanie Leigh Photo Design & Two Bright Lights for making this submission possible!
